Thinking of applying at Stripe. How is the interview difficulty compared to Amazon and Facebook?
I feel it more difficult than standard interviews, especially the bug squash round. You’re given a library with failed unit tests, and you need to figure it out with clear debugging steps.
Other than debugging, what other interview did you find it difficult?
How did you prepare @Mmci52?
Stripe does a great job in providing an alternative to leetcoding. For more experienced devs, it feels like a walk in the park, since you do similar work every day. Bug squash: test is failing, look at the stack trace, figure out what's wrong, fix it. Coding is a task. In your language of preference implement some basic API calls. In the second, implement a simple function, explain why you did it this way. How do you test it? Truly a fun experience and worth the time, especially since it gives you the chance to really talk about coding and tech. I had interviewed for a senior position. I don't know how difficult it would have been for less experienced devs.
Are you working there now?
No. But I considered strongly moving there. Commute would have been terrible for me.
What is the phone screen like and how many rounds in the final one?
Did you give the interview? could you please share your interview experience?
yes OP, you did not reply to Oracle yet :-X it is almost a year !!!
Much easier
Can u explain why
Stripe's interview is more structured around practical stuff which you would do day to day, like coding in IDE of your choice, using debugger, fixing broken tests and, with googling/looking up stuff totally allowed. It could be easy/hard depending upon the person applying. I personally found it easier as there was no overhead for practicing leetcode and my expertise from my previous experience was sufficient. On the other hand, the hard part could be there's not much extra structured preparation you can actually do.
Did you apply yet?
OP, could you share your experience. I have a virtual onsite coming up.
People ask for help. Once they get an info, they don't bother sharing thier own experience
Good luck with the interview. But would appreciate it if you could share your experience later as well!
Can anyone share the debugging and refactoring problem/library?
Did anyone attend phone interview recently ?? It would be great if you can share your experience.
High high bar here. My advice is to make it your goal to move quickly, think quickly, and above all else try to finish the coding problems that you pair on. I was in several interviews where I absolutely thought that the candidate was incredibly skilled and solid engineer to come to the interviewer debriefing and flat out from stripes that have been here much longer, reject a candidate just because they didn't finish part x of the problem. No regard for the dynamics of why. I started to feel like they are missing out on good candidates and I am talking about people coming from FANG company experience.
Can I DM you, I have a Stripe interview coming up.

Asians - what are your thoughts on asian female white male ?
I hear the interview is structured very differently (not leetcode). There is a bug squash round, sys design, etc. It'd be interesting to hear from stripes how they recommend preparing.
What do you do in a big squash round?
Squash bugs duhh 😅
