I had an onsite with Stripe recently for L2. What do you think would be the outcome based on the following : 1. Programming : 1 question. Completed the problem in one go (40 mins) and followed good coding practices. 2. Integration : 5 parts. Completed 1.5 -> Ran out of time for the second one 3. Managerial : Had a great conversation with the manager. I liked it a lot 4. System Design : Followed a good approach, answered the questions/follow ups and made sure I keep in sync with the interviewer 5. Bug Squash : Couldn't even get close to the bug :( I used the debugger/inspect tools to try and understand the code and was telling the interviewer what I am trying to understand Pls elaborate rejection reasons in the comments
It’s really hard to tell. You might not have solved the bug, but your approach could have been good. On the other hand, even though you completed the programming exercise with good coding practices, the interviewer might have a different opinion about that. Just wait until the recruiter gets back to you.
Thanks for the input!
what does it take to get an interview at stripe? always no response :(
Yeah I did my stripe final and had basically the same results. Bad bug round and one mid coding round. Everything else very solid and they rejected. Their email did say it was close, so idk if that means anything but maybe yours will be good news!
How did the email say it was close?
They said ‘It was a really close decision. Please try again in nine months” or something like that
I think you can not finish integration or poor bug squash but probably not both. I think this would be a soft no.
Which language did you do for integration round?
I failed the bug squash, but was close (I visited the function with the bug multiple times, but dismissed it for a misleading reason). I sailed through the rest. I'm expecting an offer next week. I was told by a friend that failing one section isn't necessarily a deal breaker.
after coding round is it bug squash or integration? can you share details on further round
did you get the job OP?
Nope. But I got an offer from Apple! I’m the op: changed the name
Did you get it OP?

Sounds like 2 coding interviews didn’t go well. Looks tough.
