Edit: I declined Business development role. Current TC at Meta 260k, easy life, great culture Stripe TC offer 420k likely less WLB, unknown culture I have a young family. EDIT: Stripe now vests annually and the RSUs are based on company valuation at the time of grant and not a fixed number, ie. No upside if the stock rockets once IPO.

Offer evaluation: Amazon or Broadcom
Really depends on your financial / family situation and goals. 310k as BD seems fairly good and a promotion would probably require a good amount of work. I’d stay (at meta personally rn) but I could see why you’d want to switch. That’s a good raise!
Thanks that’s what I’m thinking
What team at Meta has great culture? Interested
Stock is going down big if there is an IPO ever
So at what revenue multiple would you value stripe?
Discount your equity at least 20%. If you join Stripe, you will get equity at the $100b valuation, and not what Fidelity has claimed.
Correct. Can't get how ppl making 400k can't get simple facts right. They deserve to work at stripe lol
Seems like people at Google can’t read. The equity is fixed in USD amount so it doesn’t matter what the company is worth in the event of liquidity, my pay stays the same. For good and for bad.
@OP are you sure it’s a fixed USD amount vs. fixed equity based on current valuation?
Who is that?
I don’t know it’s on the link I shared above.
Omg they up-levelled me to L5
Did they adjust the offer?
Nope
Wasn’t someone here posting about how this is a bad time to join FinTech, after Fast shutdown, because there’s a recession coming? Where are those persons with their advice?
There’s always someone screaming a recession is coming, Fast was a mini wework https://newsletter.pragmaticengineer.com/p/the-scoop-fast?s=r I would argue Stripe’s future is bright as long as they’re not burning all the money they make
Definitely not a bad time to join fintech. Just as people said not to join banking during the 07 crash a lot of people made fortunes working at banks coming out of that recession even though everybody thought banks would be shutting doors left and right and that banking was a super unstable job to have.
