Stripe (remote): Data Analyst L2(High) TC 187k ($136k base,10%bonus,$37k RSU) Stripe UPDATED TC with Signon: $207k Credit Karma: Sr Analyst TC $190k ($147k base,28k RSU,$15k signon) Both in same location low COL; need help in deciding what's better offer. Both roles seem similar but Stripe might be a little more exciting from what I can tell. Also, does Stripe L2 make sense for 5yoe? What do refreshers at CK and Stripe look like for these roles? Current TC: $130k, 5yoe, MS
You’ll learn a lot more at stripe + growth opportunity + stronger brand name
How usual is it to get the full target bonus? Does it make sense to expect the full 10% bonus? Or do I need to do smth extraordinary to get full?
Yes it does make sense to expect 10% bonus. Meeting expectations gets you 10%. If you do something extraordinary then you will get > 10%
CK has liquid stock that has been going up. Comp is also adjusted to market on a quarterly basis. CK has strong growth opportunities, we are growing.
CK comp is undoubtedly good with the way Intuit stock has been trending but be careful of falling into a “golden handcuff” situation - CK culture varies heavily by group and some groups have some seriously toxic politics while others are great with nice WLB. It all depends on the team/product.
Don’t join Stripe, toxic culture
Can you elaborate? What teams you're referring to,
Considering you’re at a bank, walking into the valley as a Data Analyst is basically setting yourself back a few years... You’ll have to spend 2-3 years to be promoted to senior (or you may not be promoted period because it’s analytics which is saturated with data analysts who can’t get promoted). You’re already a masters with 5 YOE so you’re not exactly young for a data analyst. Most DAs are either new grads with a year or two exp or older folks who basically are stuck career wise
The role actually needs 3+ yoe; Stripe doesn't really have Senior titles from what I understand; so a Sr or Staff DA would still be called a Data Analyst; just the levels differ.
All DA postings nowadays are 3-4 YOE. Senior is 4-7. It’s inflation for non tech outsiders. Doesn’t apply if you’re already in tech for awhile. People at FB are managers with 6 YOE if they joined out of school.
Is ck comp for Charlotte?
Feel free to DM me for location details
Probably CLT. It's about 20% lower than OAK.
L2 makes sense, you might find l3 and even l4 with same yoe but is rare, and usually those are top performers that upleveled fast, for external hire your current company matters, e,g someone from fb has more leverage than someone from random starup
I see; how long for an L2 High to get promoted to L3?
You can benchmark 1.5(rare) to 2-3 years(norm)
I have 5 year and interviewing for L2 role at stripe too. How was your interviewing experience?
1 behavioral, 1 takehome in R/Python takes about 4-6 hours, then onsite (1 stakeholder interview, 1 sql interview, 1 product sense interview, 1 experience/goals, 1 takehome presentation QA interview) Nothing too hard imo
How long you spend on take home? Fuckkkk I hate take home shit
CK no brainer. Take the public stock and enjoy a 30k+ higher liquid TC over paper money with little upside at this point.
I'm thinking refreshers at Stripe are gonna be a lot higher than CK? Know what the range for refreshers at CK?
Why stripe recruiter never want to give out target range for the role? How do I know if I want to do the take home or not?
Super annoying. I think it's because you could end up getting an offer with L1, L2, L3 or L4. And that significantly impacts the comp. So essentially it's a range anywhere from probably 150k-310k based on levels for DA I have seen.
so my take home determines how much I get paid lolol fuck

What do you think is wrong with a kid who got rejected by 9 colleges?
Definitely stripe with these nearly similar offers. You can push for a sign on with stripe. Probably $15K
Does being remote hinder growth ops at Stripe? Also how does an L2 (high) sound for 5+ yoe? I was hoping for L3 really;
And yep.. was able to get a $20k signon. So that surely helps the decision :)
