So I recently received internship offers for Lyft, Stripe and Google, as well as a return offer from Amazon. I've decided to take the winter Lyft internship but am unsure between Google and Stripe for the summer. Given that this is my junior year internship I'm thinking stripe might be the better option in order to maximize my chances of full time offer and compensation (IPO ?). Which one do you think I should choose and why?
You went through the google project search stage already?
They guaranteed an offer, I think they did this because I have other offers expiring soon.
Stripe - you’ll learn more and they use more standard tools which is a big plus during remote work and covid. Google’s stack is quite custom and it can be hard to ramp up without people around you to ask questions from.
Stripe also doesn't make you reinterview for a return offer whereas Google does
I would say go for Stripe. I interned at google this last summer got a return offer but decided to go to Stripe instead for new grad. I think Stripe will be a better opportunity for early career growth but maybe have a bit worse wlb. Also the pay upside of stripe could be a lot higher than google if they have a good ipo, but that is a bit more risky compared to the sure pay at google
How much is each of them paying?
Stripe is 8k a month + 2k housing iirc
