Product designer offers from Stripe and Meta, both 290k. Which would you choose? Current TC: 257k #design
not worth the move for a way more stressful culture. what level?
Ic5 at Meta, L3 at Stripe
Stripe 1000%. The amount of growth this design team has experienced is insane. Great leadership, SUPER strong team. Not to mention tight knit!
Hi! I actually was looking for open roles last night and couldn’t find for design (I’m a huge fan of the company and figured I’d check as I’m starting to begin applying for new roles) Should I reach out to a recruiter?
Can you refer me for PD role at Stripe?
Stripe would be good antidote to your boredom! It’s nasty, shitty WLB, incompetent people across the board and headless chickens everywhere!
What you wrote is completely the opposite from other Stripe person above. Is Stripe that bad?
You would know who’s a paid shill and who isn’t!
Hey OP, can I dm you a Q about your interview prep?? Would be much appreciated
Of course!
What did you end up choosing ? How do you like it so far. ?

For me, an old fart, 30k pre-tax increase would be too small of a bump to sacrifice the WLB Salesforce is known for. However if I were extremely bored/dissatisfied at SF and were actually looking for some action, I’d go with Meta. It has a better variety of things to work on and the TC is all real money. Fintech feels too confined for a designer. And a big chunk of Stripe’s TC is paper money which I, as an old fart, would not be comfortable with in these crazy times.
Really good point. Just bored to tears with SF, meaningless and monotonous work. How’s Invitae?
I’m a remote contractor working on internal tooling, so quite a bit isolated from the rest of the org. What I’m able to see matches Blind’s reviews pretty much. Good WLB in tech (lots of coasters), low TC, low refreshers, constant reorgs due to explosive headcount growth, poor stock performance (from $50 per share to $12 in a year). I was like you bored to tears in a previous place. Made the move here for pretty much the same pay, but potentially more lively environment. Was not worth it tbh. Now I’m just a burnt out example of the ‘grass is greener’ type of thinking. Maybe I’ve been on Blind too much, but from now on I’ll only go for the offers with solid TC increase. It’s the same shit everywhere. But at FAANG you’re paid well at least.
