1) how much were you able to negotiate (base / rsu / sign on) 2) how did you negotiate (competing offers? No competing offers?) 3) for which company and which companies did you have competing offers at? 4) tips?
One time this worked: I did extremely well on an onsite, recruiter asked me how much salary, I threw out a crazy number and they matched it. I used the offer to negotiate the offer from the start up I actually wanted to work at and joined. Found out later i was being paid more than engineers more senior to me. Another time, I used unvested equity at the current employer to negotiate signon from company X. Used company X offer to negotiate 100k signon from FB.
Interesting. I wonder how often that would work... Also, the unvested equity is interesting too and I’m not sure how often that would work. Did you talk about total unvested equity, or just unvested equity coming up in the immediate / near future?
Total unvested, but I had 1.5 years till it all would’ve vested

Only 1 solution, strong competing offers from G and F. Other things rarely work.
