Suggest a main family car based on my monthly expenses

Current family car: honda civic Current weekend car: toyota supra 3.0T 6MT Budget is <$40k new or used. Not looking for SUV... sedan or hatchback is best for us I don't care about brand. I prefer something fun to drive, but nothing too crazy expensive or something that consumes too much gas. Tesla is not an option bc I'm concerned about doing long trips with it Base salary after tax: ~$12k Expenses: Daycare (2 kiddos): ~$4k Mortgage: $4k House bills (utilities, energy, maintenance etc): $1k Food, groceries, etc: $2k Net cash savings: $1k Car pmt: $0 (paid off) That includes maxing out 401k and saving all of the stocks every year, so I'm saving enough for retirement (I think). So what car would you buy without breaking the bank? $300k
