Current family car: honda civic Current weekend car: toyota supra 3.0T 6MT Budget is <$40k new or used. Not looking for SUV... sedan or hatchback is best for us I don't care about brand. I prefer something fun to drive, but nothing too crazy expensive or something that consumes too much gas. Tesla is not an option bc I'm concerned about doing long trips with it Base salary after tax: ~$12k Expenses: Daycare (2 kiddos): ~$4k Mortgage: $4k House bills (utilities, energy, maintenance etc): $1k Food, groceries, etc: $2k Net cash savings: $1k Car pmt: $0 (paid off) That includes maxing out 401k and saving all of the stocks every year, so I'm saving enough for retirement (I think). So what car would you buy without breaking the bank? $300k
Golf or used 4 door Yaris.
Ford Escape Mazda CX-5/CX-50 I know these cars are SUVs, but they are more like beefed up hatchbacks! You need the space for the family! Ford Escape has a hybrid option, if you want to save more in gas! Other options Camry or Accord maybe?
Also, I can totally stick with the Honda Civic for a while. I love it
X5 (used)
I ain’t reading all that. I am happy for you or or sorry that happened
There is still time to delete this
I still haven’t read
I got a Hyundai Elantra N Line last year. $28.5k OTD and it's been great so far. You can get 40+ mpg on the highway in normal mode and 30 mpg in 'sport' mode. Sounds great and I love the wireless android auto which was included as standard on my trim.
If you want something a little more spacious the 2024 Sonata N line has just been redesigned and offers even more value. Here's a review if you're interested https://youtu.be/AXGse3HklkM?si=2kMQKcq7Jcd0NaG9
Interesting 🤔 I will look into the sonata N
