Hi Blind fam, This would be our first trip to Europe and first after our marriage. We are a couple, no kids. Suggest some cities that are budget friendly. I’m thinking of visiting cities in Western Europe or Estonia (easy to get the visa) Spain - Madrid, Barcelona Italy - Venice, Rome, Milan CR - Prague and Vienna(Austria ) Estonia - complete different side Stay duration - a week to 10 days Budget - $6k ( heard this can be done using rewards on CC) Months - flexible ( non-peak months) PS: We both have our US visas stamped and valid till 2025. So we are good. Need your suggestions. Thanks Edit: My goal also is not to spend more on traveling between the cities. Just visit 1 or 2 completely #vacation #travel
For 10 days you should not be visiting more than 3 cities, 4 at the max. Otherwise you just touch them and leave. Spain itself can be 2 weeks
Agreed
I would suggest deciding on a country and planning afew cities there, atleast for western europe.
Planning on the same this summer. Trying to figure out a good balance of seeing places but not feeling rushed in each spot
Spain and Portugal are nice and also inexpensive. If you want to tack on a third country, you can do a day trip to Andorra from Barcelona. I wouldn't recommend more than one country per week unless you just stop in the capital. Most European capitals have tons of day trips available and things to see.
Maybe consider Portugal, Greece or Hungary
I love Stockholm and find it to be relatively affordable (at least, in comparison to the pricier cities like London, Paris, etc.) You can snag 5-star accommodations for under $300/night US, food is super affordable, and activities weren’t very pricey if I remember correctly. Outside of the large tourist cities in Italy, you can have a similar effect. I remember eating $8 truffle ravioli in Arezzo last summer - an amount of fresh truffle that would be like $100-200 supplement in the US…I was shocked!
1 night in Venice max
Why are you skipping London and Paris?
I want to do the trip within budget
Fair enough.
Lisbon, Portugal to start Barcelona, Spain after Lisbon has some nice history. Very affordable food. By the ocean. Barcelona has great food as well. Affordable. Great architecture. The cathedral is a must visit. Don’t need to visit the other European churches after this one. France might be in a dumpster right now because of the protests. But southern France or Paris would be great to end the trip. Venice is just an expensive tourist shopping island. You shop. And eat. And shop more. And shop more. And the washrooms are paygated.
Thanks for the response. Not planning to go to France. Need to decide between Portugal, Spain, Italy. What are your thoughts on Italy ?
Only went to Venice, can’t comment further haha
How do you all book tickets for visa application? What if the visa gets rejected ? You’d lose money or should buy a refundable ticket that costs more
ChatGpt it!
