Everyone else is running away with AI, and the competitors are closing in on Google from every side. Google Brain is training and bleeding the top talent, who then turn around and build the things to bring Google down. Meanwhile, Sundar and his yes men are busy cutting cafeteria costs and appeasing pension fund board members.. We are on the cusp of the biggest technological advancement in years, and Google is the best position to take advantage, or at least they used to be. Google's board needs to act fast. The founders need to take action so their legacy isn't that of IBM. Either that or they can throw money at every startup they can. Either works.

Where do you work?
quant finance (software developer)
Noted! Will let them know
It's ok, Sundar will take "full responsibility". If you asked me 5 years ago what companies would lead the AI race and which would be left behind, I would've never imagined that Microsoft beats Google
Did anyone check out the xoogler.co community? It has so many people G laid off who are now building the next G and the next whatever. Letting go talent for a company that boasted about the best talent in the market was stupid. I can clearly see someone building products that are better than G products. Indeed most products from G are not even hard to replicate by a team of talented folks, except YouTube maybe. Outlook beats Gmail, Office beats Docs, no one uses Waymo, Waze was beating Maps so G acquired it. This guy is stupid AF. He laid off some of the best folks who were also long term googlers, it didn't bump up the stock price, lowered the motivation of people, and now he can't even beat competition.
Did he really layoff those people? Google seems like a retirement home from the outside.
Even my grandma knows G laid off a lot of high performers and long term googlers.
Putting blame just on Sundar isn't very useful, Upper Management is also to blame here.
Which he should have identified and corrected. Don't you think?
He isn't solely responsible for for decisions taken by individuals managers Put yourself in his shoes He had bigger issues to worried about like the antitrust case, regulations etc.
All companies eventually become IBM. It just happens to some faster.
It would be a bit sad for Google to get there before Microsoft and Meta
Hope it's not following SUN
