Update: Trans Coworker Stealing Breast Milk
I recently moved to North San Jose and need to commute to San Francisco on a daily basis. I see Caltrain from Sunnyvale is an option (which is 20 mins drive from where I live). Is this the best route? Any tips from experienced commuters will help, best commute times, free parking near CalTrain station, carpooling etc..
The best route is make a move again to somewhere near SF to take the bart instead. Go through this pain once to make you not punish yourself with that commute everyday.
Unfortunately, my lease is for another 8 months. I drove by the street and looked at few apartment communities, but the place in general looked shady. Any good apartments communities you suggest, if you know already. I will keep checking.
Something in Pleasanton or Dublin may work too, close to Bart station
This commute sucks. Did similar, depending on your commute time in SF you'll likely be looking at 3-4hrs total commute a day.
3-4 hours? My office is 2 miles from cal train station. I was planning to rent a scooter from sf station
Yea, prolly 3 hr for you. If it's 20 min drive to station, 10 min buffer for train schedule, 1hr for Caltrain, and 5-10min to scooter to office.
Bart from Warm Springs is another option
I am looking at this option too, parking is the pain point from what I was told.
Make sure to always tag on and off or you will get ticketed.
What is tag on and off? Is this for parking?
Yes. Lawrence would be closer but the limited stock one doesn't stop there. So Sunnyvale is the best option. There are a few parking lots around caltrain station for free parking, I wouldn't recommend it daily. Best time actually varies from person to person. I used to take the 7 am train to the city and 5 pm return one.
