Got a job in mountain view and looking for housing options. Stuck between a choice to stay in Sunnyvale and commute daily or stay in Mountain view and no commute. Note: will share the apartment with one person. Room to self What are your opinion? How much is the difference in cost and what are pros/cons of having/not of a daily commute?
It’s the same place
Would love if you elaborate a bit more. Does it mean I will be better renting in Sunnyvale as rent is a bit lower compared to MTV acc to my research
If you look on a map. SV is very very close to MTV. The land is flat too. The bus is always on time. You could easily bike to work if you wanted. Sunnyvale is a great place. Love it. You cannot go wrong with either. Downtown Sunnyvale has great restaurants. Although, I prefer Mongolian BBQ on Castro st in Mountain View. Also check out the Google Android statues in MTV if you get the chance. Anyway. You have an easy choice. Literally both are good.
That place being suburban hell. All the traffic of the city and all the boredom of the suburbs
Sunnyvale?
Don't you like cities full of SWEs and PMs?
Mview and Sunnyvale are within 10-15 min of each other in non busy times. Check time from new office to potential residences on google maps at 8:30am PST. Will give you a good idea.
I live in Sunnyvale and MTV downtown is 1.5 miles from my place. Check out the neighborhood of Encinal Park.
Live in SF and take the Caltrain down
Just buy a house in mountain view, will be a good investment for your future
Lmao 2m. TC 400k required
Pick walkable to downtown MTV 100%. It may be 10% more than Sunnyvale but very worth it.
Do you know the area? These cities are so squeezed together that you can't tell when you go from one to the other. If you live by Evelyn in Sunnyvale you're way closer to Google MTV than if you live on Cuesta in MV
Not entirely but I will prefer to live Close by or bike commute distance from the MTV downtown as my office is located there
Then look for somewhere within biking distance instead of somewhere in Mountain View. The two are not the same thing
