I currently live in Santa Clara and planning to move next year as kid is going to start kindergarten next year. School district and financial wise (rental prices) which is better, cupertino or sunnyvale? I read that cupertino has the best school, looking for feedback from people who live there. At this point I'm also confused between public vs private school (like challenger). Dilemma is to stay at current location and put in private vs move for good school district. Appreciate any help!
People g o to Cupertino for schools . What’s the point in paying extra premium in Cupertino if you don’t get to enjoy the good public school
That's what I'm looking for too. I'll need to put in private school if I don't move. The school district here is not that great.
Move to Los Gatos, send your kid to public school, and call it a day
Are the public schools really that great there?

We were in similar boat like you last year and moved from Sunnyvale to Cupertino for elementary school. Now that rents are lower across bay area, you may consider to move to Cupertino.
Thank you! If you don't mind which elementary school does your kid go? Would you recommend it to others? How do you choose between 8 and 9 ratings school? Does it even make a difference?
Public schools dump all the work on the parent. I would be very careful with public schools, as due to the NCLB all they care about is test scores; they will artificially keep your students in lower levels for their benefit. If you are okay with this, go public. Challenger (or Stratford) aren’t schools I would recommend; the performance of their students is subpar and severely lacking when you consider you are paying for the horrible education you get out of them. Go with a school like Harker or Champion for good education; Harker for good extras and customer service but really high price tag, Champion for great price, best education but lacking in the office department. My child has tried all the options above.
Why you are so much worry about school, parents give ur time to ur child instead of busy making money
Thank you for sharing your experience! I checked Harker, it looks great but the fees are insane!
If you can move to Los Altos Hills, I’d highly suggest it. Kids love it here and the schools + quality of people are top notch.
What’s your tc?
Thank you! I'll check.
What dis you chose OP, pls share your expr
Cupertino does not have challenger
There is one close by in Strawberry park san Jose. If move to cupertino then probably don't need to worry about challenger.
