Why supply chain salaries are so low as compared to other tech jobs. I understand it’s all different skill sets and demand for tech roles is more. But it’s equal work and to some extent similar educational background. I am at TC150 after 8 yoe. I see many posts where TC is $200k -$300k for 3 yoe. In order to earn this money in supply chain field you need to be at Sr. manager or director level which not everyone can get. Any good company suggestion for better pay ? #supplychain
Yeah, I got out of supply chain work and I am paid a lot more. I switched to DS then moved to Product Management.
How do you do it? Internal transfer?
I started out doing Supply Chain for the DOD. I got hired in another supply-chain capacity for a different company. They needed support in statistics so they switched my role. I kept going down the path for DS but got tired of all of the try hards and fakers out there. I got an opportunity to switch to a Product based role because of my background in DS. I have now been doing that for a few years.
I to would like to know more as well when i graduate i want to make more than 75
I'm in supply chain as well. Skill set is not the same as what the tech people do that build the products.
What kind of comparison is this ? Why stop with tech, compare yourself with law and medical profess as well? It’s not only about the skill sets, what value you bring to the org also matters.

Boohoo life is unfair. As a supply chain manager myself, it’s quite ironic on how you’ve failed to grasp the supply and demand of the current job market. Also, it’s never too late to pivot. A lot of scm’s do transition to product or ds roles since they pay a bit more.
