Im debating whether I should stay within supply chain role or go attend coding bootcamps. Financially speaking, are they worth it? I am about three years in my current field
Here’s my recommendation..... start a Freecodecamp certification. Do it for 2 weeks. Then reflect upon yourself. Is this something that appeals to you? If it doesn’t, try a different certification..... do this while staying in your current role. Your enthusiasm or the lack of it will tell you a lot. https://www.freecodecamp.org
Do it! An intensive one like App academy. You'll learn a lot and grow. As someone who went to one (in addition to Cs degree) and worked at another, they can be worth it
All these wannabe CS majors trying to steal our jobs by going to a bootcamp for 3 months? Lol
Pssh the boot camps these days are in data science, because the definition of a data scientist's work is at best fuzzy.
Anything in a bootcamp can be had for free online. Hell For some of these bootcamp prices you can get an online masters 😂
Self-paced courses offered by Edx, Coursera, Udemy, Udacity are other options that you can try.
I am a bootcamp grad from 2015. I believe the market is overly saturated and that the market is really difficult to penetrate. Here is my recommendation: Go to Codecademy and do the beginner JavaScript course. Once you finish it and if you legitimately enjoyed it (through the frustration and struggle), then send me a DM and I'll give you one last sanity check.
Is market really saturated? I heard many companies are not finding developers.
Good developers is key. Just cause you went to a coding boot camp doesn’t make you good.
