Surprise Layoff today
Imagine working your tail off through nights and weekends on a high profile project at a startup. Then you receive that classic Teams ping of a scheduled meeting notification with the chief of the department, head, and group director.. plus an HR rep. My gut was feeling uneasy about this meeting and it turns out my gut was right. Officially laid off with more than half of my team. Feeling numb right now. Thank you. Overall i had a great experience there so I won't disclose. Top of the food chain made decisions that the head of my own department and sr management werent even aware of.
