Switch to FAANG cz of visa
I didn't got H1B this year. I read several posts where it says Microsoft will not hire if less than 2 years OPT left, Facebook will not interview. Want to know if this is true? I have 20 months left. I know I should try FAANG but was thinking to gain experience before switching but by reading these posts, should I just go for FAANGs in November to be on safer side so immigration doesn't become problem for them & I get fair decision based just on my performance? Current TC - 195K
No harm in trying. If u fail, u can always try again later.
Btw, its true fb does not interview with less than 24 months of OPT
I believe this is something that was implemented in just the past six months or so.
Google has any such restrictions?
I joined Microsoft with 10 months on my OPT. It doesn't matter.
Lucky you! my recruiter didn't proceed after the initial phone call, once she got to know that I had only 1 more attempt on my h1b. I've heard, a few others got their offers rescinded after knowing that they had only 1 attempt by msft immigration.
Strange. I always thought of Microsoft as one of the most Visa friendly companies!
