I switched to a new company and in less than 2 months I am totally regretting it. My manager did not pitch the job correctly during the interview process. I went back to the job description and the actual job is not even close to the description. My manager and I have a huuugeeeeee communication gap and are on completely different sides of the spectrum when it comes to how to get the job done. What should I do? Will it look bad on my resume that I am trying to find a new job so soon! TC: $200k YOE: 7 Area: Ops Update: Thank you everyone for your input and feedback. Could anyone give me referral for Google, salesforce, Roche or any other company Update 2: It seems like over selling jobs has been a common theme during covid. I hope all the people struggling out there find a job that they will be happy in. There is no reason to destroy your mental health over a company. Thank you to everyone who has offered advice as well as referrals to companies.
Always say “Yes boss” and keep looking for another job.
Best one line advice that I have seen recently here.
Yep this is it. This is the advice. Not only do you eventually end up with a great new job, you’ll leave without burning a bridge because your current boss felt like you actually gave their way a chance
Amazon?
Series B startup
Find a new job, really, no need to suffer. Better in a well-established company with strong collaborative work culture. Just avoid Amazon at all costs. Most teams are toxic there.

2 months is too short to come to conclusion, keep pushing your manager and be clear on what you want.. if he is not hearing out or no change in 6-10months , make the move
Sometimes you just know... no point wasting your time 🤷♂️
I knew my skip was incompetent 2 months in, I’m a year in. I should of trusted my insticts before.
Was in a similar situation and continued the same job trying to please my manager. It wasn't worth it. If you can coast then LC and GTFO
If you leave very soon will be clear it was just not a good match. No need to worry about the optics.
Yup. As long as it’s not a pattern. It happens.
Same happened to me, except I lost my last job so didn’t have much of a choice. Currently miserable at Google.
Which company fired you? What you mean by miserable in google? I mean you are not liking google, why?
I was laid off by a Series B startup. I hate Google because I couldn’t get the vaccine (long story) and my manager only gave a week’s notice to RTO.
Life is too short to stay in a job you hate. Start looking for jobs while still working. Dont even put this job on ur resume. Resume is to include relevant experience, not all experience. If those 2 months are not relevant, dont include
