Hi there, I am planning to switch my domain to deep learning. I do see most jobs in deep learning require phd. Is it possible to learn while working on project from kaggle and switch ? Is it like mandatory to have a phd to switch to machine learning positions?
I made the switch. While I shine at systems, I suck at ML. I mean really suck. Maybe if you have a PhD you could get some creds to experiment or do shit, but without it you become pretty much an implementor of their ideas. You learn a lot, but be prepared to be just a worker ant.
