YOE: <1yr TC: 230k ^ Thought I'd just get it out the way... I'm thinking of switching companies, and I'm wondering what you guys think would be my best path moving forward. It feels like time is running out to apply to the companies (big tech companies) I'm interested in, so I feel like I should apply soon. Having said that, I'm not sure what the job market looks like throughout the year, so I can't tell how much of this time crunch is self-imposed. Either way, in my current state, I am definitely going to need a lot of time before I feel like I can tackle the technical interviews. I'm also trying to transition from working with relational databases to working with a big data tech stack. I am willing to take a pay cut if it means I am able to gain exposure to frameworks/tools used in big data. Anyways, any insight or advice you guys have is much appreciated. Also, happy to answer any questions (to the best of my ability) about my experiences at Oracle. Edit: How much should I be concerned that practically every job out there asks for 2-3+ years of experience?

Don’t take a pay cut. With 1 yoe no one is going to put too much thought into what “tech stack” you are familiar with. You will be interviewed and hired very similar to a new grad - so just prep for generic interviews and don’t put yourself a peg down because of whatever reason
Thanks itzmoi, that's great advice and that's relieving to hear for sure.
