It seems T-mobile is about to fire unvaccinated folks. What are your thoughts? https://www.reuters.com/business/media-telecom/t-mobile-terminate-corporate-employees-who-arent-vaccinated-by-april-memo-2022-01-29/ #covid-19
Iโm fully vaxxed with booster, this is ridiculous
Doesnt seem like a good idea.....but they are a private business, so I guess they can do what they want.
What a lame excuse, can they also fire smokers? Or fat people? People with heart condition? HIV? They are private so why not according to your logic
Well, some of those might violate discrimination laws. But the ones that would not, yes they can. For example, Im pretty sure a company could fire someone who smoked at work if they had a rule saying you cannot smoke at work (being a smoker is not a protected class). A better question is does a company have a right to know (for sure) whether you are vaccinated or not (ie medical privacy) That would be an interesting question.
Where is the answer, I am vaccinated and T Mobile can do what they want?
Fck the Faucists.
I love all the cute names people use to attack others... I mean if you can find a clever way to label someone, it really is an effective way of making an argument
I'm pretty sure you can cancel a t mobile phone plan at any time for no cost. Obviously you will have to pay off remaining debt on any device financed.
Why? did their customer contract say if you ever disagree with internal employee company policies, you are free to cancel a service contract....? (And the same logic would apply to employee contracts, if they have one...)
I don't get what the problem is. They're a private business. People should be glad that they're able to operate freely and how they choose right? Even far right conservatives must agree with that logic? This isn't discrimination because everyone has a choice here. There are plenty of work places that require vaccinations for other diseases, why is this any different? Also I don't blame people for not wanting science deniers working for them. Help weed out some of the less mentally competent individuals.
Double check your definition of discrimination. Unfair treatment of a group of people based solely on a physical characteristic is absolutely discrimination.
Getting a vaccine isn't a physical characteristic... As I said before there already are vaccine mandates for many jobs from before covid. Stop listening to propaganda and learn the law lol.
If Hobby Lobby and other businesses can opt out of providing coverage for birth control, bakers can opt to not make cakes for homosexuals, I donโt see why T-Mobile canโt choose to do this.
I think it's ridiculous, and the wording of the e-mail from the manager is reprehensible: "we are asking..." - no, you're not 'asking'; you're ordering, and firing anyone who is not willing to obey. Stop saying 'asking' and use direct language: 'do this or be fired'.
They can't order but they can fire. So they ask. What are we missing
"Do X or be fired" is not asking; it is ordering.
1. Collect data on vaccination status 2. Find out unvaccinated is actually small percentage. 3. Proceed to cut cost to deliver share holder value
Will never use t-mobile because they suck and this..
Ok? Lol
I understand but VMware lost the crown long ago too
