I have an offer pending from T-Mobile on their corp strategy team in Seattle. Anyone here have any idea about that team? how’s the team culture and most importantly what package can I expect at sr.manager, corp strategy level? current tc - $210k, chicago #telecom
Lol
230k ... Safe to be in T-Mobile for next 2 years
TMO is pretty much safe and reliable comparing to other surrounding companies here
I don't feel they would layoff if they gave her an offer after the merge...if anything they prob need her right now.
I loved TMO as a company the culture within certain teams can be almost like Amazon. It maybe a different time. Just know you may have to be a "Yes" person. If not you will be considered a trouble makers if you voice your real opinion. I was in Technology and over the past 6 or 7 years it was more like get your job done and hurry.
Sprint has a layoff planned, Corp team is from the tmo side so should be stable for sometime but sever costcuttings on its way !
I'm in the corp strategy org, TC might be a lateral move to 230k...team is solid, good balance, but lots of politics...tmobile is a telecomm company, not a tech co despite what leadership wants you to think...this is a frustration when trying to push for innovation.
I used to work for tmo, this resonates strongly. They outsource any meaningful tech work.
Bump. Curious about the package in terms of salary / bonus / stock to get to the $230K, exit opportunities internally into the business units, and work life balance.
Very little actual strategy and it’s all top heavy decision making. You are a peon and don’t get to make decisions if you are not VP+. Culture has fallen apart since Legere announced retirement.
We don’t know how company culture will evolve through the integration and on the way to challenge competitors. But agree: decisions are often top down and not data driven. Plenty people here only say yes.
Very surprised to read these comments!!! The new T-Mobile is about to become one of the world’s most powerful companies. My expectations are that they will be handing out massive TC increases in celebration of their new position. I wouldn’t worry too much about layoffs when the company is going to hand out massive TC increases.
While likely to be a bigger player in the US, unless tmo can expand beyond core wireless,it will remain in effect a utility for internet. A well-placed one, but a commodity. To grow to be one of "the worlds most powerful companies" will require diversifying into other areas. As long as corp strategy is subject to core wireless, this is unlikely to move quickly enough...also why would a company start handing out TC increases after a merger? The entire purpose is "synergies" (aka cutting cost)...yours seems like a really uninformed take...
Not really. Massive TC increases would go a long way to helping everyone out instead of laying them off. I’m sorry if you don’t feel this way.
