I signed contract in October last year. Builder has multiple delays, first closing date was supposed to be in April, then summer 2024, now not sure about summer. Any chances I can get my earnest back in Redmond, WA? Tc: 550K #housing
Just ask them. If they say no, your chances are very low I'd say. They cover the bases when all the papers you've signed. I had to sign 140 pages when I bought a new construction.
But isnt price fixed? Home prices went up 10+% in the last year so why dont you just wait it out
Right, the thing is that I’m in temporary rental which doesn’t work for me long term :/ I’d need to find another short term rental or not sure what else. With kids it’s not that easy and I’d rather settle
Yes, missing dates negates the contract. If they say no, get a lawyer.
Ask your agent...
Just ask them. I think they would happily cancel the contract because in the current market they will easily sell it at a higher price.
Look at the contract and see what exit options you have.
Wow that's quite some delay. Which builder? Also what exactly is causing the delay? I'm also under contract on a new construction so a bit tensed about potential delays.
Toll Brothers. They said they had poor contractor that needed to be replaced
