L3, an extreme introvert, considered nice and soft by teammates, a simple brag.

L3 at Google with 200k TC (reduced). In recent years, I have set up the system to do dev freelancing outside of working hours. Basically, I spend less than 2 hours during the weekdays for sync up and about 8 hours during the weekend divided over 2 days. I've about 10 devs overseas, I get dev projects with hourly rate of 50 - 80$, and delegate all work to my devs overseas for 10 - 20$ based on seniority. I spend 20 - 30 minutes for reviews and sync up daily, all happen outside working hours. In 2022 I made a little over 200k, and the last year 2023 I made over 463k in 1099 that's over double my TC for 4x less work. I can easily write off some of expenses legally with 1099. Basically, everyone is happy, overseas developer, myself and business partners. Quality of work is great. Money flows in even when I sleep. I live in Bay Area, I'm thinking of quitting, scaling this business, and moving to a less expensive place to reduce my expenses.

Would love to hear how you’re getting/gaining Dev projects. Happy to DM if you’re willing to share a little.

Cool story bro

I tried that. The main problem is consistently finding projects. Couple of months of no projects and the business starts tanking. Because you scale as per expected workload and if that workload doesn’t materialize then the costs sink you.
