Total full time YoE: ~3 First company: - Spent 2 years there - TC: 90k Second company: - Spent 1-1.5 years there - TC: 145k Current TC: 200k What’s the minimum time I should I stay in my current role to avoid being labeled as a job hopper?
Who has labeled you a hopper and why does it bother you? Are you on a work visa? You have to think about your career and your goals. Companies are going to layoff no matter how talented you are based on budgets
No one has yet, just don’t necessarily want to get into the position where I’m really stuck at a place because other places are afraid to hire because they’ll think I’m going to leave quick. If anything my family has mentioned it. And nope, US citizen
Yes, if you keep hopping every year, that would look really bad. It’s like you can’t survive at the current place and give up to the challenge. Questions like: did you get fired, what have you contributed, any promotion …. Stay at least for 2-3 years and get some promotion. Also you can’t get good referral if you leave in a year
Why did you omit TCs?
Just updated, totally forgot
Shouldn’t matter
Should keep hopping until you decide to post TC
Updated!
It’s ok to hop more for higher TC
Actually, it's not. That's a massive red flag.
No it's not. Your HR rounds will be very tough.
Stay 2-3 years at a few jobs to show stability.
Lol who cares? When the recruiter asks why you job hop lie and say you got laid off. Enjoy your TC increases every year
You are unreasonably optimistic about “increase TC” for 3 yoe
Can new employers verify if you really got laid off or if you left on your terms?
Your friends refer to you as Frogger, behind your back. Just FYI dude.
Your time between jobs isn’t uncommon in tech
Nice job hopping! What’s your TC now?
Thanks and just updated!
