Recruiter told me the following Base 150K Bonus 15% RSU 80k/4 TC = 193K Feel like this is the lower band for a finance manager role. How much room to negotiate? #facebook #finance
They shared the same, super low, found sth with almost 300 TC
wow. congrasts! FB didn't want to match? what's your level @ amazon?
6.5 I did not even bother to interview with FB 🤷
Sounds about right, you can probably juice them to 220 to 240 in Negotiations
in terms of RSU? Seems like base and bonus are pretty standard. I have RSU vesting coming up in Nov which I can use to negotiate
why finance manager is IC5 at FB?
there are different levels of manager role (IC and M)
ah! So your title can be manager but there is no direct report?
If this is "manager" in title only (no reports) it seems reasonable
How does FM at Facebook compare to Amazon in terms of level? I know at Amazon as an FM you can squeeze 150K base if you push really hard. 40 to 50K signing for each year for two years and then 100K in 4 year equity.
I’ve seen these packages get approved at the 6.5 level.
This would be bottom of the band for 6.5
It’s low. Push for 170k base and 150k RSU and 50K sign on bonus
Good luck pushing it without a competing offer for that level.
Agreed. You need a competing offer to get it much higher. That being said, I got the exact same offer for IC5. I had a competing and got the salary to 160, the RSUs to 100 and a sign on of 25. Good luck
Remember there are IC6 and IC7 with the same Finance Manager title. So this offer sounds about right for IC5. I got a similar offer for an IC Manager role when I joined.
Are they all call themselves FM on linkedin? Ic5,6 or 7 is the same?
Most of them call themselves FM. Some IC7s call themselves Sr. Manager but there are no “Sr. manager” tittle within the company.
You can negotiate on: Base: They won’t go much higher here citing defined salary bands but can get it in the $155k range RSU: This is where you should negotiate the most. $80k/4 is the initial “lowball” offer - some candidates don’t negotiate. They’re expecting you to negotiate and can likely add ~$20-30k/4 here. Sign-on: Don’t expect too much for finance roles but you can ask for ~$5-10k or so. No room for negotiating on bonus.
Is this a Facebook policy not to pay huge sign on for finance roles? Cisco paid me $25k sign on 3 years ago. And now I got an offer with Uber and my sign on is $35k
Not sure if there’s a policy, but this is what I know based on my own experience/conversations with peers. We’re definitely not as generous with the sign-on bonus for non tech roles.

What happens when most of your team is Indian?
What is the location? That doesn’t seem low unless you are 1) more than 6 YOE or 2) located in SF/NYC/etc.
How is atlassian?
