Hypocrisy of Indians
Just wondering what it’s like to work at Github as a dev. What’s the interview process and TC look like for a new grad?
Thanks for the insight. An irrelevant question, is there a way to expedite the interview process and get through application selection?
Thanks so much for the response! Are you guys actively hiring for new grad positions?
I don’t know many people that come in as a new college grad but I do know a few interns who got offers right after their internships. I think generally a lot of the positions are for more senior level but it can vary per team. We also get a lot of candidates so it’s some what hard to set yourself apart during the screen phase but not impossible I suppose. The interview process can take a while but it’s better than before. When I was interviewing it took about 4 months and that’s from the phone screen to offer. I didn’t apply but was reached out after a team noticed the work I’ve done on a open source project. The TC is competitive but not better. The benefits are better than anywhere else I’ve been and you’re given a lot of autonomy(since mostly everyone is remote). Interviews process can vary per team but pretty standards to the other tech companies.
I assume having a popular open source repo is a good way to set yourself apart? It seems it would be especially important at a place like GitHub.
