Hi all, I know San Diego is supposed to have one of the lowest TCs for high COL cities, but wanted to know/compare some concrete numbers for the region. I'll start: Non-BigN/FAANG Data Engineer 6-7 YOE TC: 130k+ (121k base/9k bonus/some stock option monopoly money) Is this below/at/above average for San Diego?
That's seems low even for Chicago. I assume sd is higher col. Edit: it's not.
FAANG fw/embedded <3 yoe TC: ~130k (105k/10k bonus/15k RSU/yr)
Here are my offers from this year. PhD ml + 3 years. SD 220 SF 500 SEA 400.
honestly SD TC is atrocious considering CoL. the sunshine tax is unbelievable. hopefully with FAANG expanding here, TC will trend upwards.
TC in SD is significantly lower than SF. I would move there in a heartbeat if it was only 10-20% lower, but it seems to be even lower than that.
I was making $205K TC in SD. Then I moved to SF making $400K. To me honest I felt plenty rich on my salary in SD.
YOE, company tier, title/level? While you were in SD ofc
