Sure it can piss you off and make you feel insecure but try to remember that it serves a very important purpose. It provides a level of transparency that you can't find anywhere else. Companies often do everything in their power to ensure that compensation is hidden from direct reports. The TC or GTFO culture here shows everything. I've seen engineers with 3 YOE making $350k+ as well as engineers with 12+ YOE Making less than $150k. Because of our TC or GTFO culture we know the whole spectrum and how to change where we land on it. That's it, stepping off the soap box now TC: $250k YOE: 7

There isn't. For me I include salary, total stock grant divided by 4, ESPP -cost of ESPP, bonus, and 401k matching.
