I’m almost 40 and my wife is 46. Never added everything but did it on fidelity app today. My thought has been to work until 50 and then retire. Any advice is appreciated. TC 700k (only recently, have been a startup guy in the past)
Congratulations!
Congratulations! Saw your comment about being startup guy in past. Did none of the startups work? The reason I am asking is because I got offer from startup and am wondering whether to join and how likely is that equity will have some value
It just depends on the startup, what you’re doing, and if you believe in the idea and the team. Some startups workout, a lot of them fail. If every startup worked then everyone would want to do it, the market would be saturated, the comp would be adjusted down, and the market would even out. Trust your gut, nobody else will be able to help you.
Unfortunately none of them worked! Some of them still exist though but without exit my shares mean nothing.
That’s a pretty good NW for a single 30 year old.
Or a guy at Lyft who's insecure about the size of his... 🥕! (hypothetically speaking ofc, just a random example straight off the dome)
Someone's cranky. Is that retirement home you're at even more depressing than I've been led to believe?
Congrats!Are you an L7?
Thanks, L6
That's amazing for L6. I thought L6 was closer to 500-600 range.
Does your wife work? If yes, then you can look at a shorter horizon. Also, you should start thinking about where you want to retire at-least 5 years ahead of time.
Congrats, that’s awesome
