TN visa with business background

Has anyone applied for a TN under computer systems analyst with a business background? I am going to a land POE tomorrow and expect a lot of questioning/resistance from the border officer because of my degree... #tnvisa #workvisa

Do you have a degree in computer science or equivalent? If it's equivalent, do you have an analysis of equivalence prepared by a recognized expert? If not, it's a long shot.

i have a biz degree so i guess we'll see how this goes...

Yeah. My degree isn't CS, but was technical, and I took a lot of CS courses. Fragomen hired some expert in CS curriculum to write a letter stating that in their opinion my degree was equivalent to a degree in CS for the purposes of employment and that was accepted by the border guy. I dunno what would have happened without that letter.

It's slightly less of an issue if you have the degree + a few years work experience in the field to back it up. My degree didn't match my job title exactly, but it was explained in the supporting job offer/documentation they provided. POE was Pearson airport, all the horror stories I heard were at land crossings especially if you plan to get the stamp then immediately return to Canada, they don't like that.
