How is the culture at Netflix? The culture doc makes it sound cutthroat, but is that really the case? TC: 220k
Here’s an interview/ podcast with NF’s CTO where she describes the culture in great detail: https://youtu.be/2XgU6T4DalY?si=ZJ9o8pKCuTULOw1s
"Great detail" isn't how I'd describe that episode or any episodes from Lenny's podcast
They fired the person who wrote the culture doc.
What is culture doc?
It’s not a rest and vest culture. People perform at high levels. Definitely not for everyone. The pay is great, but there is high level of responsibility (especially since teams are so lean here). If you don’t perform, you will be let go (I’ve seen people with 10 years here let go).
sounds like my typa place, slide a referral?
Do you think someone who is early-mid career (4-5 YOE) but high performer may succeed in that environment? Is there a decent amount of support/mentorship from more senior employees or are you mostly left to figure things out on your own?
They have a no bums allowed policy.
