Biggest ATT Data Breach in history

AT&T exposed 73 million (former and current) accounts on dark web. I have received 2 alerts that my account info, including SSN exposed on dark web. I don’t even know ATT stored all these info until recent. This world is wild, no one is talking about this yet the government passed the law to ban TikTok so fast. At least TikTok doesn’t have your SSN. Mind you no one can delete once exposed on dark web so damage is done. I’m pretty sure there will be class action lawsuits and many of you should be eligible, we need to raise the voice, this is totally unacceptable. And what can we do other than freeze credit?

There really should be a law that they can't store your SSN for more than a year

Or just last 4 digit, SSN is literally the last privacy people have these days

Affected customers should receive free service for a year. That’s the only way these companies will become serious about security.

1 year? Lifetime

Why would AT&T have my SSN?

Meta fjru187 OP Apr 27

I don’t even know, opened accounts several years ago, and didn’t get email saying my account was compromised, but I got alert and news said 73 million, so that’s basically everyone with ATT

Credit check. They shouldn’t have been storing it
