Has anybody here tried the Whoop fitness tracker and is it worth paying the subscription?
Never heard of it, but I love my smartwatch with Samsung Health. It tracks my steps and athletic activity and is just super handy. I even use a custom watch face that I made myself!
I did the month free trial and sent it back. Prefer my Garmin. Ultimately the data seems unreliable, and will just tell you to get more sleep, cut out the booze, and do more cardio. I already know all that
I’ve found the same thing. I cancelled originally during my 3 month subscription because it was the same information to just reinforce what PipPopper said. I restarted the subscription a year later to get better insights on RHR and HRV. Then the new strap came out. And with the renewed interest and a couple of months with the new hardware, I won’t be renewing my subscription. Most likely I’ll get a chest strap and manually record instead. Some additional reasons for not renewing: -No real new insights. Get 8+ hours of sleep. Exercise. Don’t drink. -The daily log was a waste of time. The correlations were wacky in that every good thing I could do seemed to have a negative impact in the numbers. -Automatic activity tracking has been a joke. I focus on kettlebells for exercise along with walks. The likelihood that the strap registers any of those is negligible. But if I sing during my commute, I’ll achieve big numbers that day. My highest activity day was 12 hours of driving. Sure, it was stressful, but that isn’t exactly true exercise. -Whoop still hasn’t figured out how to cater toward strength training. If you’re a triathlete, this is a great product. But I could be physically exhausted from lifting and I might not hit 10.0 for the day.
