These things msrp for 50k, but depreciate like crazy (even though it's a Toyota) prob bc of the fuel choice Figured tech has higher % of these car owners - could you talk about where you live/fueling options nearby and general ownership?
This car is basically an experiment and usually only available in certain parts of the country.
It’s a Lexus the top ls underneath. So has to be sublime in road manners. Drive it and throw it what’s the big deal. It’s not a limited edition 911 or anything of the sort.
Lexus. Sublime in road manners. 🤣
Yeah don’t diss it I’d never own one. But great to be driven in. My uncle, who can afford rolls Royce’s, but is a penny pincher, and he leases them every two years for the last ten. Earlier he used to lease s classes. I’ve only been driven in it and it is sublime.
When I purchased mine, there was an amazing deal that essentially made the cost of the car $25,000ish after the rebates and incentives. They also gave me a card with $15,000 that can be used for hydrogen fuel exclusively. This, combined with the fact that I WFH, am single with no kids, and live near several hydrogen stations makes the car a solid choice. I purchased it in 2021, and as of now, I still have about $7000 left on the card. I love the car, but I don't recommend it to the average person who needs to drive a lot more on a daily basis, which is most people.
$8000 for 3 years on fuel seems a little high for a single guy! How much do you drive annually? Unless hydrogen gives shitty mileage and is terribly expensive.
I don't drive much. The price of hydrogen was initially pretty good, especially because gas prices spiked up in 2022, and everyone driving an EV or FCEV didn't have to deal with the ridiculousness of it. Unfortunately, most of the hydrogen stations are run by a company called True Zero, and at some point, they switched from sourcing their hydrogen from a green source to getting it from oil. This caused a linear relationship with the price of gasoline.

I thought the company itself heavily discounts these and you get free fuel for life and even more dealer incentives plus tax incentives. All this making these cheap options.
Saw some of the 2018 models going for $7k and it was like that can't be right 😅
