I got an offer from Chewy. I’m genuinely surprised as I thought I bombed the interview. But I have 2-3 years of experience, about 1.5 years of both dev and devops. And ideally I’m trying to stay in Massachusetts/ Boston area. I’m also in the interview process with Capital One, Amazon, and have a referral from Microsoft I’ve yet to hear back from. And a referral from Google I’ve yet to execute on. And a couple other smaller companies. Ideally I could go to a start or a place with high growth. I’m also in the interview cycle for TikTok (but that’s for SRE). I’m trying to go back a more dev oriented role (currently in devops). Current TC 115k, base 107k SDE 1 Chewy TC 137k, base 113K 113 base 5k sign on 10% perf bonus 7k stock 28K in stock over 4 years Equity refresh every year 25% of base every year I have my final round with amazon in a little over a month. Strange thing is there’s no team yet recruiter putting me through the process, and said if I pass on-site we will discuss teams (more like google process it appears). Is it possible, that I wouldn’t match with team even if I do pass the interview or get down level? I liked talking with the interviewers at chewy, but it seems like a lot of people on here don’t like to work at chewy. Like a general consensus dislikes chewy while something like aws is more subject to the team you’re on? #engineering #chewy #amazon
No harm in continuing to interview and using this offer as leverage if you end up getting one and want to negotiate.
This offer ends on Monday and those interviews are pretty far out :(
Only you and CHWY knows that. Offer has an expiry date in it ?

What happens when most of your team is Indian?
I forgot to mention the role is for backend development on their logistics and planning team which seems to be internal tools recruiter emphases how high impact this was so idk
dont let recruiters bully you into anything. Unless you absolutely need the job i consider interviewing elsewhere. If your not feeling the role and the TC dont need to feel pressure into a silly mistake which you'll regret later. Just let them know your looking at other options and you'll get back on your terms not theirs. Everyone is hiring like crazy, including chewy. This includes HR having a tough time getting their numbers up on new hires. So im shock to hear theres a deadline if not for the bullying tactic.
