I was having one on one with my manager when another team member entered briefly and they chatted in a language that I cannot understand. Is this rude?
Yes. I don’t speak English natively, but I avoid speaking in a different language in front of other folks that I know that don’t speak.
Python?
Mandarin
I don’t like that , I like cuties they are more sweet
Definitely
Extremely. Your manager should not be creating/fostering an environment that excludes team members.
Assuming manager has manners but apparently they don’t.
This however is extremely common with Chinese.
Never stop learning. Figure out what language it was and learn at least some basics. If you suppress the diversity, how can you benefit from it? First it’s language (only English!) then it’s age then race then gender and in no time you are surrounded by cis white male. Diversity. Embrace it.
I cannot comprehend your answer. So you ask me to learn Mandarin?
This guy idiots.
In TS people speak comfortably in different languages in office, Spanish, mandarin, polish, etc.
First of all: if someone interrupted your one a one without a BIG and SPECIAL reason, this is rude. Talking in another language in front of you is another big problem.
our team members speak 8 languages in total, we are ok with some members speak their own language when talking to each other, hindi, mandarin, french or whatever, as long as they can communicate efficiently.
They can talk shit about you
why do i care? talk whatever they want
Totally
Yes
