What's the deal with companies setting a target bonus. Presumably getting the bonus is guaranteed... why not just increase base?
It’s a way for companies to reduce your base. Good companies pay flat out base imo.
If they lay you off, unemployment is based on salary only. It's why Amazon has a salary cap.
Getting the target bonus is often not guaranteed there's often a performance based multiplier, or a revenue/profit based multiplier
