I recently sold my rental property and have about 500k to invest. I also have some IRAs with more than 100k. One option I am thinking of going with is Vanguard's Personal advisor services so that they manage this money better. They charge 0.3% commission annually on the assets being invested. The other option I considered was to just pick a target date fund in Vanguard and invest there. I have my IRAs and 401k in these target date funds already. Pros of target date funds 1. Automatically rebalanced 2. No commission Cons of target date funds 1. maybe I will do better with a financial advisor 2. No tax loss harvesting What are your thoughts? Is Vanguard's advisor service worth it? TC: 560k #personalfinance #investments
Have you thought about a robo adviser like Wealthfront or betterment?
The robo advisor is not providing much value when you don't take out the money for a while. They provide tax loss harvesting which is a small advantage. The rebalance is done by target date funds also in addition to services like betterment. So that's not an advantage. Betterment charges 0.25% commission. So the tax loss harvesting is negated.
Target date fees are horrible for subpar performance

What happens when most of your team is Indian?
Just pick a target date fund, although you could just buy whatever the target fund buys directly instead of paying them a fee for it
