I want to change CPA this year and looking for alternatives. I have been using a firm in Florida and every year they charge me more (this year 450) and they don’t really look at my profile to give me advises. I would like someone who can help with tax strategy as well. How much do you pay for your CPA? In my case I have 2 mortgage, one short term airbnb, and some stock sale. Please let me know if you have good recommendations. TC 350k
0$ - I just pay the application fee of $15 - a family member is a CPA
I pay $500 in Austin. No proactive strategy, but they do answer questions when I have them. I’m primarily W2, stocks and have 4 rentals.
my CPA charged $800+ for a relatively simple return, though lots of different brokerage statements etc. and advice when needed. WA state.
Why don’t you try to file by yourself
Because it’s hard
$450 is dirt cheap for what you’re getting.
i file myself
Can share mine if interested? W2 and stocks for me takes $50
Use turbotax buddy. Even with their MAX package with live advisors on call filling out everything for you, it will be less than 450
You can get advisors through them?
Yup. Live, on video
You work at Google, you can't file your own taxes? I guess the hiring bar here is low af these days.
