I think of all the tech companies, Apple is the best for various reasons. However, I don’t think I am good enough to get a job there and i have logistical concerns about working there. For 1, i need to be remote for at least the next year due to personal health probs. 2. I am transitioning from data science to software engineering but want an easy data analyst job at a stable company with good WLB while i finish my masters in CS, which will take another 1.5 years. PINS is circling the drain and i have read the writing on the wall. If i have to jump companies before I’m ready to be SWE, i want the data job to be easy so i can keep up with school and finish making the switch. If it’s not going to be easy, I’d like to be paid a butt ton so it’s worth the stress. Aside from those two things, i want to work at Apple. Wondering if i should save my efforts for when I’m done with my degree or try to start there as an analyst and move into SWE alongside the degree. Not that option 2 is really on the table. Apple is the only FAANG company that won’t interview me; can’t seem to get my resume noticed over there. Anyways TC: $250K YOE: 6
Doesn’t apple give less PTO than target employees?
I honestly didn’t know. I’m not too bothered by lack of PTO. If i have to be “on” 50+ hours a week with no PTO, then that would be a problem
Idk how lack of PTO wouldn’t bother someone. I get 30 days of vacation every year and I use it to actually live my life.
There are many other better places to work at honestly. Don't be narrow, Apple doesn't care for you or anyone.
Im not sure whats best for your career but I personally could not handle full time job + masters + interviewing
PTO = 12 days
