Expecting an offer next week based on talks with recruiters. Backup recruiter told me that positions below senior level that are getting hired will no longer be receiving RSUs. Can anyone confirm if this is legit or not? The positions or any other upcoming position at the company doesn’t seem worth it if they’re no longer handing out RSUs. If they’re no longer handing out RSUs, could I make the argument for higher base pay knowing that if I move forward I’d be vastly underpaid compared to my “future” peers? TLDR: Backup recruiter said that since September, positions under senior won’t be receiving RSUs. Can I make the argument for higher base pay knowing that I’m getting low balled since no RSUs are being given? Location: Bay Area TC: 174k YOE: 5 yrs
According to leadership, they made the change based on feedback they received that people earlier on in their careers said cash is king. So for positions that aren’t getting RSUs, the base is being increased to make up the difference.
Don’t think that’s the case
It still kinda stings knowing that you would essentially be coming in knowing you’re making less than your colleagues
Yes for the grades P1 to P3, there won't be RSUs but base pay would be higher
What was your offer?
They gave me a P2 position Base: 140 Bonus: 10% TC: 154 I’m taking a steep pay cut, but I’m also worried that I would be out of a job in a couple of months with no chance of severance
Keep interviewing .... that's a very low offer for 5yr experience

not sure. but they are trying to play hard game given the job market and not giving much if a chance to negotiate.
I just think it would have been nice to know or get that update while I was going through the process.
