This is disguised as a way to make Uber more money. How is the business plan even possible if the employees/contractors are not paid properly. Tipping is fine…but Uber is not even a Resturant, it is a service. Do UPS or FedEx ask for tips when they deliver baked cookies? https://igvofficial.com/ubereats-driver-cries-after-getting-tipped-just-84p/?mibextid=Zxz2cZ
Do you have proof, that drivers make over minimum wage? Can drivers survive just working for Uber? I tried Uber, barely made $70 after working 6 hours, in a major city, then deduct gas and maintenance. Uber Supported carplay, not until recently. It’s not driver friendly. It doesn’t show $ amount for ride unlike Lyft. Uber management are out of touch with reality
Well TMobile, you tried it, and then you stopped, right? You found out couldn't make enough so you did something different. That's literally how the labor economy works. If someone else is continuing to do it it's because they're making enough for the options they have, given their skillsets and willingness to work. Current Uber drivers are on average either finding the wages to be enough or are more skilled, which enables them to earn more per hour than you.
However bad it is, it's still better than their second-best option
Uber and gig economy is only to be worked as a second job for flexibility. I think people are over optimistic if they expect they would get paid a lot for work that is flexible in nature. Only government intervention can bring in a solution for this. Which I am sure will be worse for both producer and consumer of the service.
UPS delivers fresh baked cookies? Gotta get in on that
Tiffs Treats or nothing
Feel free to order from https://www.bakedbymelissa.com/latest-greatest-cupcakes.html
I think drivers get to see the tip before they take the order. Maybe he should not have taken the order.
People love paying 30$ for 10$ food
Uber et al are just injecting too many middlemen into a relatively small market. If the cost of goods before Uber is $30 then the cost to cover Uber corporate + Uber drivers is going to be a huge fraction of the final price. There’s just too many people wanting a cut of a small transaction.
Tipping culture is messed up. I never tip for food delivery or coffee shops
If the business model Does not work Uber will go out of business. Its just natural
Restaurants are referred to as the service industry
