A lot of tech companies, international and national companies are exploiting India and Indians. Truecaller, FB, Instagram, Xiaomi, OnePlus, Oppo, Vivo, YouTube, Snap, Google, FinTechs etc., to name a few. Mainly because of 2 reasons, 1. Indian Government doesn't have Data Protection Laws in place 2. Most Indians are not aware of the concept of data privacy and consent. Something needs to be done given the size of population which translates to user base for these companies! #tech #data #meta #google #snap #facebook
Also, customer service is kinda trash for all companies in India.
Lo Sathya, JUICE KUDITHIYA?
You cannot buy anything in India from shops without giving your phone number, cant stay at hotel without giving your aadhaar. What kind of privacy we are having. Apps stealing daya is much less of a concern than these.
