Tech is outsourcing jobs overseas

Seen many job openings for engineers outside of the U.S. The great reset is happening… Google, Microsoft, Adobe, Dropbox, Lyft, Rivian, Walmart, Box, etc all have a ton of SWE positions open for places like: Nairobi, Kenya Sao Paulo, Brazil Cairo, Egypt Warsaw, Poland Bangalore, India Noida, India Belgrade, Serbia

Same here hiring aggressively in Poland

They’ll keep hiring people in the west if they’ll make the company more than what the company pays them. But giving priority to talent in LCOL yes that will happen for sure.

All the executives are following this trend. Heard it at WD also, hiring in India and TW mostly. Hopefully I’m retiring in time before all tech engineerings are oversea, and not recommending my kids to pursue software anymore because of this trend and AI. This trend will hurt STEM education in the US, what a shame.

They say it was happening in the 90s and 2000s. But it’s happening for real this time. Just go look at the careers site of Adobe.

What’s different? It’s happening at a rate faster than it can be replenished locally

On the contrary I see almost no direct jobs in my local market, most openings are through contracting companies like the one I’m working in 😞
