I was interviewing for a Data engineer role at cash app and was wondering what their tech stack is like ? I know they use heavy snowflake but how much spark is used ? Wondering if data engineers are only restricted to sql or can they work with CI/CD like docker , Kubernetes etc. Do they have full AWS console access ? #tech
Did you get the role?
I did. Yes.
Congrats! What was your final offer? And did you accept? How long did they take to get back after the final round?
I've got some questions about the DE role at CashApp that are a little outside the scope of this thread. Do you mind if I DM you? Just trying to get some clarity to help with my decision.
Go ahead. Itās still my first week here but Iāll try my best to answer.
Spark is available via databricks, but hasnāt gained a ton of momentum internally yet. Much of cashapp culture is about doing the job the best way for you, regardless of tech. Snowflake and spark are also totally orthogonal. One is storage and one is compute.
Thatās great theyāre using databricks since I personally use it a ton. I was asking if deās are only restricted to python and sql.
Snowflake has compute as well. It couples storage and compute
