Tech work but not really

So reading posts and threads on here, I was encouraged to join this forum because I work in tech but more on the facilities side. I'm new, and marvel at the live's you folks live. High salaries, massive perks, creative environments that are changing the world (looking from the outside in). I know most of you busted your rears to get to the positions you are in life and I wanted to ask for advice. How would one start down the path of tech? What should I be looking into and learning about. I'm interested in innovations, by education I'm an architect (buildings) not the tech version. I am creative but my profession is sadly soon to be the next chimney sweepers of the world, unnecessary. I want to evolve my skills to take advantage of my location and opportunities of this area. Looking for guidance, thanks in advance! #startup #guidance #mentor

Get a CS degree. Don’t let others tell you that a bootcamp is “pretty much the same”

Go to a bootcamp. A CS degree in the US is a waste of money.

I would suggest bootcamp - get any programming job that gives you good experience and then move to a better role once you learn enough and find what area to specialize into. Cs degrees are a lot of time and money and bootcamp and on the job learning is more sustainable imo.

Dm me. I used to come from architecture (buildings) world too. In UX now making 3x I would’ve in architecture.
