So we can shut down everything when management does not agree to our salary demands. Look at what UPS workers achieved through a union. Getting paid 170K for delivering packages that is unskilled manual job. If we don’t form a union, the management will squeeze us more and more to give to these union folks. #tech
No
170k total. Not comp
What is comp? Like $120? That’s pretty good if not paying any healthcare premiums
Varies and you have to work 6 days a week to get it.
Yeah! We should push for minimum starting TC of 500k!
Yeah, tech union bros!
Heck yea
what’s ur tc
Only unionize with people who include TC in their posts
You realize that 170k is clickbait, right?
You realize it’s the average pay right ?
Wrong. That's the point.
You do realize that $170k is for back breaking work right? When I moved to my current house, almost all my furniture, home gym equipment and electronics shipped via UPS. There was at least one time when I received well over 1500+ lbs in one delivery with multiple 100+ lb packages. Most people would simply crash and burn in a few weeks. You're looking at expensive medical bills at 40. It's like asking top SWEs to work for $400k and calling it a win just because that salary is higher than average SWEs. If anything, it's a loss.
It is not "back breaking work" to deliver packages, even if some of them are heavy. Come on.
Indians will never let this be a thing. They'd never go along with the herd even if it benefited them.
Lol not going to happen. Plus as soon as you start managing people and have certain decision rights, you usually aren’t eligible to unionize. Nobody in this country feels sorry for tech workers right now unfortunately. And the TikToks “day in the life of” showing soft squishy jobs filled by soft squishy people don’t help with the sympathy card. Stand on your feet or move all day for a living and deal with the elements and then people might give a damn
It’ll never happen.
