Recruiters omit information to sell you the company. Then, you start working and after a month find out something critical that, if you would've known, you wouldn't join. Let's share our (bad) experience with each other. Amazon: Compensation model cap - if the stock appreciate enough (as it did), you wouldn't recieve new stocks after a year even if you recieved exceed expectations. TC:🍌🍌🍌🍌
That lot of reorgs happening
Worked at Amazon. That’s a lie. I was given the same excuse by my manager. Came to know that another guy in my team who was one level down was making more than me. At G, recruiter said you can easily change teams. But omitted out that within a year it is near impossible.
Not a lie, that's how comp managers are instructed. In some locations it's less likely to happen due to high salary bands.
It should be fairly obvious you can’t switch teams before a year but I get it, that’s a bad thing to lie about esp when candidates are new to tech or naive
That every alternate Saturday is a working day. Luckily for me, I read the fine print of the offer letter/NDA and rejected the offer
Does msft have same thing related to stocks as you mentioned for amazon?
Nope
Cool, so whatever they told they will give per year that will be fixed right? How is refresher decided and how much person gets? Thanks in advance @baidu
I didn’t share the fact that she sounded like asmr
That the job is partially customer facing, that the job was remote when it wasn’t.
Thanks for sharing, which company?
I don’t even remember. Some no name company I never heard of.
“Free use of the office gym”, when the gym was a tiny storage room for Uber Eats courier supplies, with some dumbbells in the corner.
This policy about stock appreciation is complete garbage. If stock appreciation means less refresher it goes against the principle of giving stocks to align employee interest with shareholders. Feel bad for you guys
Recruiters are really vague about stock and refresher policies at most companies, makes it tough to evaluate offers
Because stock refreshers are performance based and cannot be guaranteed at most companies. I haven’t seen an offer with refreshers mentioned on it.
For real? Does Uber have the same thing 😅😂.
Yes 😥
Uber takes away stocks that it gave you…
