I know my audience of readers is largely $200k+ people. I am new to this “high comp” world, and I am crafting plans to launch a side business with my extra moneys. I assume I’m not the only person to be into this kind of thing. Anyone want to share what they did with their copious income? Did it work? Did it fail? What did you learn?

39 with two kids. Started off at 21 having to beg friends to let me stay for free until I could save enough for a safe deposit to rent an apartment. Worked 60+ hours a week from 21-26. Mimicked my life after the NBC show The Pretender whose main character is able to impersonate any profession and inspired me to believe I could do anything as long as I worked hard. Started a company at 24 where I forced myself to do sales, customer service, design, marketing, coding, dev ops… anything needed to make the company work. Started another company at 28. Most of the time I did not know what I was doing but thought probably with over confidence that I could figure it out and luckily I did most of the time. I was absolutely despondent at 21 after struggling in college and spent months indoors to the point where when I left to go outside for the first time I was blinded by the brightness of the sunlight. Not sure what happened but one day was determined to make something of myself since doing nothing began to feel like a waste of time. TC: 1.5M NW: 16M
Love this 🙏 I’ve been lucky enough to have a smoother start than you I think, so it’s on me to make the most of it. Really feel like it’s my game to lose
